Just curious if anyone has seen any apps or can suggest any methods of converting an access database to mysql?

The genealogy software I use stores its data in an access db (with lots of different tables and keys and stuff) and I'd like to convert it to a mysql db so that I can pull out parts of it to generate my own custom web pages. --

There are probably a number of ways to do this, but two come directly to my mind. First, there's a shareware tool that you could download and use called DBScriptor. This tool would, via an ODBC connection to the Access database, create scripts that include the table structure and data, that could be loaded to MySQL. MySQL isn't a current "dialect", but I've used it to unload MS SQL server tables that were then loaded to MySQL.

The second approach is using the Borland Data Pump utility that comes with the Borland development products like Delphi. It also accesses both using ODBC and will migrate both structures and data from platform to platform.

As I said, there are probably tons of other ways to do this, but here's at least a couple.
