Greetings,

I have a website that I host inside the network, and the Macs can't access, because when you type in the address and press return it adds .com I don't want it to do that because it not on the so they page cannot be displayed. Oh yea we use a proxy and I added the inside website. still it adds the .com.

Thanks

Netscape 4.8 should go right to IP addresses, I know mine does I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

The reason the browsers add the www. and .com is because you don't have an internal DNS server telling them that "server1" is xxx.xxx IP address.
If you create a hosts file that specifies the server name and then it's IP, then specify that file be used from within the TCP/IP control panel, the browsers will go to the right place. ________
Remember, you're unique... just like everyone else.
