Access to get Cable Modem or Router configuration pages

Using windows XP pro, I know how to access to view a
cable modem's page in Same local network (192.168.100.1)
but I am trying to figure how to access to get any
cable modem's page from anywhere(e.g. NY to CA) Anyone
know what kind of software or what Configuring Cable Modem Remote?query Command can help me to get any cable
modem or router's page? I would appreicate you aif you
help me.

For security reasons your router/cable modem won't respond to queries that are not on your (wired) local network.

Cable modems are accessed by their provider via a proprietary sofware link - not by public internet.

Imagine the mischief that could be caused if anyone could reach out over the 'Net and scramble your router settings.
