Using Report Builder 3.0 on SS 2008R2. We migrated a lot of reports that users had built in Report Builder 2.0 on SS 2008.
One of the features of RB 2.0 that seems to have been "lost" in RB 3.0 is the ability to insert a "filter description" textbox as the footer of a report. We have a number of shared datasets, and users utilize the dataset filters to limit the information they want to see.
Unlike parameters, I have not been able to find any way to reference the dataset filters being used so they can be put into an expression in a textbox. The migration simply hard-coded the filter values at that point in time into a textbox, so even when the user changes the dataset filter values the legend is static.
I've searched this forum and elsewhere and haven't discovered a way to reference these values from an expression. I have a sinking feeling I'm going to have to go teach these people to use parameters and build expressions instead of using the filter designer.
Thanks! (braced for the bad news)
