i seem to be having major problems with my wireless linksys routing system. (befw11s4) i will explain my system.
i have a p4 1.3ghz desktop with 512 mb rdram hardwired to the router, which uses verizon online dsl. this computer runs xp pro. the second computer is a laptop 2.4ghz with the same amount of ram. this laptop runs xp home and i connect wirelessly to the router from one side of the room to the other. both of these computers run fine and connect to the internet like a charm.
the third computer, the problem computer, is a 500mhz p3 running windows 98se, with 384mb ram..this computer is one floor above the wireless router..i set that computer up with a wireless pci lan card, all parts in this network are made by linksys.
the computer upstairs gets great signals (93% or better). the problem we are having is that this computer keeps losing its connection to aol. all three computers use aol 8.0 for broadband. ( i know its stupid, but the person who uses the computer upstairs only knows aol.) our isp is verizon online dsl.
i have tried it all..playing with the settings..upgrading the memory on the problem computer..reinstalling drivers..and she keeps losing her connection..any advice is much appreciated!
