I am a beginner and i would appreciate it if somebody could help me.

So the problem is:

WE have set up two lans:

LAN1 :

domain : domain1
server name: server
ip: 192.168.x1.x2
dns:192.168.x1.x2

LAN2 :

domain : domain2
server name: server
ip: 10.152.A1.A2
dns:10.152.A1.A2

CISCO ROUTER:
VERSION:Cisco IOS Software, C870 Software (C870-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(8r)YI4, RELEASE SOFTWARE

ip: 10.152.A1.A3

we want to set up the rooter so that access the internet from both domains.
we need to administrate the domains separetely and not having one domain with
all computers together access the internet.

what changes i have to make in the configuration script of the router
so that access the internet from both lans?

thank you very much!

What are you using for switches? If you're not using a multilayer switch then you'll more than likely configure the 870 as a router-on-a-stick. You will need to be sure that you've configured NAT for both subnets. If you need help in configuring this setup post back and the community will help you out.

One last thing, what are you using as a firewall?

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

I think the 870 does VLANs, like a 2950, so they are L2, and an SVI is created for L3 configs. Post a sh run---for both subnets, you need ip nat inside, and an acl for nat and the nat statement. The acl will include both subnets.
Please post a sh run.

Thank you for your reply.

As i said I am a beginner and I don't understand
everything you write.

Sorry but I have to ask you some things:

-Unclerico sorry for my uppercase.
For switches I am using 3com 16 port hubs. What do you mean "router-on-a-stick"?

-Burt what exactly i have to do to configure vlan's. Please forgive me but I don't understand
the meanings "SVI" , "acl" and what exactly to post back.

Thank you very much.

Can you console into the router?
Also, the 3com hubs will NOT do. You need actual switches, not hubs (big difference).
Sounds like you have a lot of reading to do. What you want to implement is not beyond the scope of this forum, but doing it with someone who has absolutely no knowledge is not feasible. Please read about networking.

Burt

Ok Burt, I will do it.

Thank you very much.

A good way to accomplish this is to start studying for CCENT and CCNA---these certifications will pay many dividends in the near future, and getting real equipment to practice with is easy and fairly inexpensive (Ebay, Anthony Panda dor com, etc.). Here at Tek Tips, there is a forum dedicated to such studies...you can do it!
Believe me, we'd love to help, but we'd start explaining on how to accomplish things, and even the most basic things may confuse you. Best thing at this point would be to hire a consultant. Go to this thread, start getting certifications, and maybe in a year or more, you can start to make the $$$ the consultant you hire makes!

Ok Burt. I understand.
Just needed some directions.

Thank you for your time.
