The database that I built runs nice and fast from my local drive but when I save it in a server so that others can access it, it starts so slowly. It sometimes takes over a couple of minutes to start a form. Can anyone help me diagnose this?

Generally, you copy the front end file to each user's computer to alleviate performance problems from coping objects over the network and lock conention. The backend file then is kept on the network.

mrbboy,
what's the db size?
what's the load on the server you moved it to?
what's your network speed?
how much are you doing when 'starting the form'?
compact and repair on the server copy help?
i've got a db that's 1/2 a gb up on a server and it opens in about 1 sec.
regards,
longhair
