In using Access 97/2000 as an application front end to a SQL Server 7 database, I need to have Access NOT save the password for one table, but save it for all other tables so the user will not be prompted.
The one table is one I use to control user login and access to areas of the database. I don't want users to be able to use the classic "shift key" method to bypass the startup form and be able to look at the tables....and be able to look at the modify/add to the data in this one particular table (especially since SQL Server 7 has no password type, so passwords are out in the open) unless the cheating user knows the password I've used to protect the table/database.
If I try linking the one table without saving the password in Access, then all tables require that the user enter the password. Anyone know of a solution or even another approach?
