Access\SQL Relationship

Is it possible to use a client PC with the MS access version of a program to login to a server running the SQL version of the same program??

If not, is it possible the other way round??

Any advice or ideas, would be much appreciated.

The two are unrelated. A user must have permissions in SQL server to log in to it. WHether or not he has Access is irrelevant.
