Hi,

I have a form that inserts data into an access db using an autonumber column. It passed QA, but in production I'm getting a lot of skipped autonumbers. is that normal? I have all input validated and errors trapped.

Quite obviously, no it's not normal as that would be a strange "feature" to have in access.

First of all, is it actually a problem? As each record gets a unique ID, does it matter to you that it has skipped.

Secondly, (and this is maybe just a personal opinion but for some good reasons) don't use MS access for a ASP.NET site. There are other databases that are free and do a much, much better job.
