Dear All
When I want to close (Quit) one of our Access applications although the application closes in the normal way, it leaves behind a 'shadow' copy of Access still open, minimised on the Taskbar. There is nothing in this application but I have to go into Task manager to close it.

Any thoughts on a) why this is happening and b) how to prevent it would be much appreciated.

Are you using VBA code? If so, check that you've released the variable referencing the application:
dim dbMine as database
set dbMine = currentdb
'automation code

set dbMine = nothing

Dear JoyInOk - Thank you for your post. I have asked the programmer that wrote the application to check this out! Thanks again.
