ACCESS settings in the registry

I know that somewhere in the registry there is a place where I can add file extensions so that a data output macro will be allowed to name the file Filename.xls. where .xls is not currently allowed. I've added allowed extensions in my registry before but I can't remember where that is done and can't find it. Does anyone know?
