Hi All,

when the access security file is on a network drive and you want to take the frontend away to continue development. You can not access the database becasue it is looking for the work group file.

How do u open the mdb for development when u r not on the network?

thanks in advance ;)

What do you mean by "take the frontend away"? Did you copy it to your local workstation? If so, copy the workgroup file as well, and use the Workgroup Administrator to join the local workgroup file.

What does "looking for the work group file" mean? Are you getting an error message? If so, what is it?

Does "not on the network" mean that you have no connection to the network, or does it just mean that you don't want to use anything on the network? Did you copy the back end database as well?
