Access Security Question ???

I am having difficulty using Access with it's built in user security.
I am the only user with admin rights to the database. However, when I open the database and attempt to edit or add any module, form etc. I get the message that I do not have the database opened exclusively.

When I examine the Ldb file it shows me as logged in twice. Is this causing the error? And, if so, how am I logging in twice?

once i exit the application it shows no one in the application and I can delete the lock file. but when I log in again, it shows me as logged in twice again.

If anyone could assist me with this it would be appreciated
