We have been distributing a runtime application in Access for 5 years for our customers to look up our products. This year, I created the App as I always do (except I upgraded the database this year from the Access2000 format to 2002) and created my install package. I also had to change a setting to allow the install to work with Windows XP service pack 2 (to keep it from looking for Appletalk stuff).
Anyway, now when I install the software on PC's here, for it to work on Windows XP Pro, I have to be logged in as the administrator account. Any other ID, including my account with admin rights, it will not install the shortcuts nor will it install MSACCESS.EXE. The only thing wrong with the install under the administrator account is it will not put the shortcuts in the All Users folder so anyone can run it. Also, I tried running a batch file to copy the shortcuts after the install and they won't work.
I have Office Service Pack 3 applied, and the Developer service pack 1. I have tried changing the PrivateGroup setting in Setup.lst with no luck (changing from true to false). I am not sure what to do at this point. I find nothing on Microsoft's site. Can anyone help??
