Access Runtime - OLE objects don't work

I have an Access database table that stores linked OLE objects. When I run the application with my XP Office Developer version everything works great -- I can set new object and view stored objects. When I package the application for runtime use everything in the app works except the OLE objects -- they neither display nor can you set up a new one. Is this a limitation of the runtime version?

Can any one direct me to good documentation on the runtime version of Access? We use it a lot with few problems but I still feel like I'm flying blind.
