Dear all,

I need more information about Access restriction.

We have these prameters:

RDB (TARG,FRL) , FCR (CRNO),RLB( FRL, MFRL), CLS(UNR, CTD, TLD, SRE, FRE, FR1, FR2) TGAR, , NCOS CCS(CCRS, CNCS)
any one know the general relation betwen these prameters?.

Actually I know reasonable information but I need to have the full knowldge.

BR,
Rafat

Are you trying to implement something? Or do you need pointed to documentation.

Mato' Was'aka

Actually I have 6 sites connected by PRI I need to implement Access restriction Between these sits and esternal lines.

How do you want to use these lines?

What is it your trying to do?

Your question is so large and covers so much IF, AN's and maybe's I would have to post the NTP's to cover it.

can you be more percise in what your wanting to do?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

each has it's own place in the equation and really depends on the switch build... here (81c 7000 stations) we do not use any cls mark to change access... we use tgar to block paging routes and we use ncos for all other allow deny dependant on the number dialed... we dp use mfrl because we use auth codes.. the remote switches live by my dialing rules...

best bet is as ace posted, what are you trying to make happen...

another ace quote (kiss) keep it simple... in bars that holds very true... very seldom to use more then a couple of the options that comes in the box

Don't make programming any harder then it needs to be.

NARS/BARS is the simplest why to allow/Deny a user to make calls.

This might help

Thank you all for the help.

Thank you acewarlock for the web site, realy it is great help.

I want to ask about the following:

1- In the RLB(RLI)we have two deferent prameters FRL and MFRL any one know the deferance.
I know FRL will compared with The NCOS (FRL) of the accessed sets
2- in the trunk (DID or TIE ) there are NCOS what actually it does ?

Thanks again to acewarlock.

BR,
Rafat

maximum FRL, unless using authcodes - have them match.
if frl 3 mfrl 5

if your ncos is not high enough, user will get stutter tone allowing for authcode entry - for say International calls.

Mato' Was'aka

1 mfrl 4 give auth tone to any station ncos 4 or below.. i use it here.. auth codes(ld 88) change the ncos of the set,.,. so if your ncos 1 (here) and dial a ld, the nfrl is 2 (on that rlb) so you get a request for auth, if you enter the auth code.. your ncos is changed to 3, the call goes through... with out the mfrl you would need to enter the auth post dial without being asked..

the ncos on a trunk or tie is used when the trunk needs to be used for a dial through.. my tie trunks to a smaller switch are ncos 1, if your on the far end and dial a local, my switch looks at the ncos of the tie trunk, and allows the call... if you dial ld, my 81 sees the ncos 1 on the tie trunk and ask for a auth code...

if your cdb is set cfo, and you try to cfxa from any phone.. you can call internal to that set and cfxa to ld.. but if you dial in did, to a phone that is cfxa ld the switch looks at the ncos of the inbound trunk, if that ncos is not high enough to make the call.. it is blocked.. fi your using cdb option cff, the switch uses the ncos of the forwarding station...

so the nocs of a trunk is important in tandem trunking more then anything else

So,Minimum Facility Restriction Level (MFRL)

is the same like FRL ?!!!
Can any one show the deferance in details

If RLI 3
have FRL = 3 and MFRL = 5
and user with NCOS = 1 and the equevelent FRL = 4

if the BARS s/w will compare the NCOS with FRL the call will not pass.

But if the BARS s/w will compare the NCOS with MFRL the call will pass
is this right ?

NCOS - your money.

FRL - How much it cost to ride.

Are you using authcodes or plan to?? If not, no problem.

Mato' Was'aka

If your not going to use AUTH CODES, don't worry about MFRL.

Ok,
I got the point, so, what is the benfit of MFRL ?

anther parameter CNCS under ld 15 ---->> CCS_DAT.

If I want to luck station to access a tie line using station password is it will work ?
Thank you for your great and valuable information.

BR,
Rafat

Authcodes! to allow certain users temporary higher ncos allowing them to make certain calls they otherwise can not.

If MFRL is not higher than FRL and you are lower NCOS - you get a fast busy - if mfrl is higher than frl - stutter tone - awaiting authcode number to allow call.
