Here's what I would like to do:

I if a date field contains a date that has passed, I woul dlike to change the background color of that record in the report. I am not sure how to do this.

Hello adamdunko,
If you are using Access 2000 or higher, try "Conditional Formatting".

Hope this helps,
Michael

Good morning Storyteller,

I have just posted a similar question on a diffeent thread.
I have the same problem and have tried Conditional Formatting but am only able to change the colour of the text box I format on. What I want to know is if I have a row of information and one of the boxes has a certain condition, how can I change the colour for the whole row.

many thanks

Hello All,
I was practicing on "Northwind" and was able to modify the "Invoice" report to conditionally format an entire row.

I did the following:
1. Shift-click to select all the fields in the "Details" section.
2. "Format" select "Conditional Formatting"
3. Changed "Condition 1" to "Expression is"
4. The expression I used was [Quantity] = 1
Note: There is not an "Expression Builder" to create this expression.
5. Selected the necessary formatting.

It worked by formatting each field that was selected. Conditional Formatting does not work on a "Shape" (rectangle), but it will work on an "Unbound" text box.

Hope this helps,
Michael
