I have a report of class assignments
the headers/footers are as follows:

Report HEADER and FOOTER
Page HEADER and FOOTER
Grade HEADER
Teacher name HEADER

and the DETAIL fields are as follows
Name, Gender ("M"or"F"), Address, Phone, Second teacher (specialists)

I would like to add a summary to the footer of the report with each teacher's name in grade order with a COUNTOf

1. total students
2. count boys (M)
3. count girls (F)
4. count 2nd teacher

i.e GRADE 2
- TEACHER (1) Name (#students) (#boys) (#girls) (#of kids with second teacher)

- Teacher (2) name (#students) (#boys) (#girls) (#of kids with second teacher)
- etc....

Thanks with any help...

Hi,
Where are the Total Students (and various counts) coming from? You did not show that with the Detail fields you mentioned. The key is to either do this in the report, or in the query (this may be faster, since all the detail doesn't have to be sent to the report).

Right now all of my counts are coming from the report. through count functions ie count[gender] or =Sum( Abs([gender] Like "*f*") ) for a count of female students.

Does this make sense?

Hi,
You should use the same formula in the footer for each teacher. Access is pretty smart in that regard. In other words, wherever you place the formula, Access will figure out whether it is a report footer calculation, or group footer, or whatever.

Create a totals query that calculates all the values by teacher and then base a subreport on the totals query. Include the subreport in the Report Footer of the main report.
