Hi....hope someone can shed some light for me.
I have a report and I am trying to find out the percent over contract amount.
This is the formula I am using, and I am getting the wrong data.

=Sum([Contract Amount])/([Actual Amount])

example.... for contract amount 241,195.00 and actual amount 266,754.00 using this formula I get the number 10372%

When I use a calculator or excel for this calculation I get 1.105 which converts to 110.5%

What is wrong with my formula?

Why are you not using:
=[Contract Amount]/[Actual Amount]
or
=Sum([Contract Amount])/Sum([Actual Amount])
Is this control in the detail section or a footer?

It is in the detail section of my report. I tried
=[contract amount]/[Actual amount]
but this just gave me 100% percent values all the way down...not the correct calculation.

I don't understand your data. It would take about 1 minute to type a few samples of your data values into a reply so that we would know how the values are being used. If the expression
=[contract amount]/[Actual amount]
gave you 100% then is it possible the values are the same? Are these two fields both in the detail section?

Both of these values are being pulled from the detailed section.
Example Data: Actual Amount=266,754.00 and Contract Amount =241,195.00 this calculation should come out too 1.105 which is 110.5%

What are the Format and Decimal properties of the text box?
