I want to keep a report's formatting, including the sizes of text boxes, the fields selected, the placement on the page, etc. and be able to use this "template" or "style" for new reports from other queries. The autoformat button only keeps the general look such as bolding, background color, etc, but all my work in design view at getting things to fit on the page are tossed out. Isn't there some way to not have to redo this every time I generate a new report? I'm basically trying to generate reports with same fields but different data. Thanks for help. Springboard.

I don't see exact solution to your question.

Anyway, you may walkaround:

Keep the SAME report (if it really don't change) and create different queries where you give the same set of names to different data:

Field1: Vegetables_Name in the first query

Field1: Furniture_Name in the second....

Or just Copy the existing "template" and paste it into a new report.

Thanks! The copying works wonderfully (didn't quite follow the query with different names method...). I just did a select all, pasted it into a blank report and then associated it with the proper query. Why Access doesn't have a more automatic method eludes me. But thanks again, now I can keep some of my hair.

Actuall, you do not even ned to "select all ... everthing". Just select the report in the db window, Copy, Paste ...
