Access relationships not preserved in linked tables

Hello--

I have two linked tables from one database to another. In the database where the tables actually reside the relationship between the two tables works perfectly. In the database that I want a link to the tables in I can't get the relationship to work. They are related in the database that stores them and then I try to create the same relationship in the database linked to them and the link won't work. Anyone got any tips on this? They would be greatly appreciated.
