access registry???

hi all,

i need to check the windows registry to see if a program is installed, and what version is running.

from what i've read on the subject, there seems to be no way of doing this simply through flash....so.....i propose to knock up a simple a vb app that can open up the registry and perform the check for me...

does anyone know how i can pass the results of the vb app back to the flash projector and thus trigger a response in the timeline, my guess is that i'll have to use shellexecute, but after that i'm lost!

The best way of going about it is to include your flash animation in your VB app then you can pass params between then. If you need an example just say Regards
