We use Exchange 2003 and outlook 2003 in our office. One of our secretaries has setup some groups in the public folders. Just to make sure that I explain myself this folder is located in the Folder List of Outlook.

I need to be able to access them from the server so that I can redirect incoming email to those groups. When I go to the exchange console on the server I can not find the folder that she is creating the groups in.

Where can I find them? I know very little about exchange so I need your help.

Thanks.

OK, I knew that this would happen. I found the folder under Administration Groups > Houston > Folders > Public Folders.

However, I still need help setting up the redirection.

Here is what I need to do. We receive an email from a service that we want to forward on to people in a specific group that is in the Public Folder. As soon as we receive the email it should be redirected to the recipients in the group.

Can I do this with exchange 2003? If so, HOW????

Thanks.

You mail enable that PF using ESM. Then you get the emails coming in to use that new email address. Then you allow the relevant staff to see that folder and ask that they check it.

Thanks for the response. I am very limited when it comes to exchange. I need the "for Dummies" version.

I went into ESM and did a right click on the folder and opened the properties. I looked at the exchange tabs but did not see anything about mail enable.

Can I get more detail on how to do this? I want all of this to happen automatically. The recipients that get the redirected email are outside our network (if that makes a difference).

Thanks again.

When you right click on the folder one of the options above properties should be the Mail Enable one.

If you have turned off auto-responses to the internet you could also set up a rule to tell your group of people that a new message has arrived in the PF.
If auto-response is turned on then the message would obviously be sent to the original message sender as well.
