Will a Wireless Access Point work without being attached to a pc or router once it's been configured? I need an AP between a Belkin Wireless Router and a wireless NIC but I don't need an extra computer. The router works when the pc it's wired to is switched off. Will that be true for an AP as well?
Thanks,
Tony.

a AP unit can be set-up as a "repeater" also. this means you don't need a cable ran to it and it will repeat the signal for further coverage. you will however need to make sure the equiptment (belkin) you have will support that and visa versa with the "repeater". "Jack of all trades. Master of none."
