Is there a way to include a category and value for a pie chart in access that resides outside of the pie chart itself? I can get the values inside without a problem, I just can't figure out how to move them.

Thanks in advance

PJ

Sorry, but I can't picture at all what you are asking. Terms like "inside" and "outside" don't carry over well to pie charts (or any other Access objects that I am aware of).

Fair enough. When I create a pivot chart using a pie chart type I am able to show the values that each one of pie slices represents. When I see these values they reside on the shaded part of the pie chart (the inside). What I would like to do is migrate these values outside of the area that the pie chart occupies.

The reason I would like to do this is because some pieces of the pie chart are very small making up only 1 or 2% of the total. The values that Access lets me use do not fit on each of the indivdual slices and they tend to overlap. It would clarify my reporting if I could show these values on the outside edges of the chart.

Having the value labels on the outside of the pie slices was the default when I created a pie chart. This is a property that you can set by right-clicking the data labels and selecting "Format Data Labels". Check the "Alignment" tab and find the "Label Position" drop-down.
