Access password prompt error

I am trying to use the Crystal Reports wizard in Access97 but although I have no security on the db a dialog box appears requesting a password.
I have trawled the previous posts on this subject and was helpfully referred (thanks Malcolm) to a Crystal KBase article.

I have followed all the steps in the document which includes checking the version of dao350.dll installed. My problem seems to be that I don't have any version (i.e. it doesn't exist in my installed version)

I have tried reinstalling CR8.5 but it makes no difference. I have searched Crystal KBase for more help but can find nothing.

Anyone got any ideas where I go from here?

If you are Accessing the DB as a SQL try accessing it as a Database file.
