This is something I've been trying to resolve for some time and was wondering if there is a way to accomplish this in Access (since my Excel macro building is rusty)
sequence data1 data2
Row1 0001 ad
row2 0002 ad
row3 0002 ae

that's basically the structure I'm working with. the records in row 2 and three are identical except for the data1 column. what the user wants is this to be exported into a spreadsheet without the multiple rows. In other words they want it to look like this:

sequence data1 data2
Row1 0001 ad
row2 0002 ad ae

Is there a way to do this in Access?

Using a pivot table may be what you need. Since there is such a small amount of data available in your example it is hard to be certain.
But I suggest you look at Transpose in Excel help
good luck
