There is one computer, that when opening an Access database from within Access, gets the message "this program is not responding". Then when Access is closed, and they try to open the file from the Windows browser, they get a message saying that the database is open in read-only mode. But this is only on the one computer, other computers do not have these problems. The database was made in Access 2000, and all computers accessing it use Access 2000. All of the library references seem to be intact too. What could the problem possibly be?

Does the user have full permissions on the folder ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Yes they do. It is strange. They are now getting an error stating "Cannot find the file 'G:\Path\DatabaseName.mdb' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

Also, it seems to work when they copy the file to their local drive, but I want them to be able to access it from the shared drive.

This definately sounds like a network security issue for this particular user. Can your network admin take a look at the user's security or active directory settings?
