We have established a connection to our ERP Oracle system (10.7) from one of our remote locations using a business DSL service. This location has multiple users. The "connection" is very buggie, it tends to stop the application (or freeze the screens)
or just report a "Form 99999 - Network error". I have worked with the modem/router company and the DSL provider to determine a solution. Nobody really knows. We are using a VPN product(Intel). If we dail up to the Oracle ERP system, using the same computer and VPN it will work for hours. Anyone had any experience in this area???
Thanks Gary Regez

Gary,

Although I have not done this particular thing, having worked for Oracle I am aware of other customers trying to run over dial up connections etc.

Assuming that you are using NCA, running with a local forms server would be very beneficial if this is an option, thus reducing the network traffic.

Also, in the 10.7 client install manual there are a couple of profile options that you can change to reduce the network traffic, although off hand I can't remember what they are.

Hope this helps. Jeremy Webb.
