Access Notes using IE

One of my user has the problem when access Notes using IE. He typyed in address bar as:

http://Notes_server_name/mail/user_name.nsf,

but it says "Error 401, You are not authorized to perform this operation."

I'm confused, because other users didn't meet such error messages.

Could you pls help me?

Is he on the same server as the others that can do this? if not then the server html permissions may not be set correctly. If he is, compare his ACL against someone's that's working.

Your user might have a version of IE that needs updating (128 bit encryption, Java enabled), or it might be that he needs to start the URL with 'https' rather than 'http'.
Also, does your web access system have an intro page - if so, can he get to that? Also, what web access password was set - is he using the right password, or does he even get the web login box ?
