Access Merlin Magix - standing in front of the box

How do I access the Merlin Magix admin using winspm?
I have not programmed a Merlin Magix and I just want to pull the configuration.
I do not have a 355AF adapter so I cannot access the admin port(I think from what I've read).
Can I connect into an analog port and just dial *10?
Is there a default IP address that I can connect to with my laptop using a crossover cable?

*10 with your internal modem connected to a T&R Port is your only option.

I hope, for your sake, you have the default password.

Thanks. I stopped by yesterday after noon and should have tried it. I will try that tomorrow.
I ended up finding a 355af adapter and had it connected to the admin port, but it would not connect.I used a standard mounting cord(8 wire) connected to the 355af to an rs-232 cable (25 to 9) connected to my com port and it would not connect(tired 1200 and 2400 baud).
I have a Merlin installer scheduled to come out and price out the move on Tuesday, but the move is scheduled for Thursday. If they are unable to move the system, I want to at least have the ability to connect to the system myself.
I work on the g3's and above and never had an opportunity to work on the Merlin, but I'm sure I can muddle my way through in a pinch if I can get connected.
Any Merlin experts in NE Ohio?

Not being able to connect with your serial port makes me wonder if your serial port is active in BIOS, or maybe it's a different port number than what you told SPM to use.

But, if you have used it to connect to other systems, the fault could be with the Processor.

There is a way, with the Programming console to reset the RS-232 ports on the processor.

That may be something to look at.
