Have two ME machines running a multi user version of 16 bit software client is trying to access user files from a mapped drive on a Windows ME server machine. Can ping the the IP address of both ME machines. Can map a drive from one machine to the other. Both have host and lmhost files.
The 16 bit the application is installed on each machine which are sharing user files. The same installation works on windows 98 to 98 machines, or windows 95 to 98 machines.
Even though I can ping and map drives, the application client cannot find user files on the server.
Have tried ie, p:\program\files, \\computername\share\program\files
p:\\computername\share\program\files, where p: is the mapped drive.
Is there some difference in the way that ME and 95 or 98 gives access to mapped directories to programs.
