Hello,

Is it possible to :

1. Use Sendmail that is on the linux server as my mailing system.
2. Have the mailboxes reside on the server itself.
3. Use a browser to access the mailbox instead of using outlook express, so that people can access mails from any workstation.

Kindly help me on this.
Thank you,
Srinivasan.

1. Of course, that's what it's there for.
2. Of course, they're already there.
3. Of course, IMP and others

We need a bit more info about your system but Sendmail is usually ready to use. Just put the domain name in /etc/sendmail.cw.

Just ask if you need more specific help.

check out .. it's an open source web-based e-mail system, with several plug-ins that make it quite easy to use and setup..

it works with Sendmail and any other MTA, and is coded purely in PHP...

u will need some kind of IMAP server.. i recommend Courier-IMAP, it's the best because it also supports Maildir, a more flexible and feasible storage format than MBox.. the problem here is, u will need to either hack sendmail to deliver Maildir, or install Postfix, which comes with Maildir default..

good luck..
