Access Mail Merge with parameters

Hi anyone have the same problem as me?
I have this form which runs a query based on the form ID, produces the desired result, a table of mergeable data, then I want to merge the result with Word, with office links
It thinks about it for sometime, flashes on the Access table created by the query, but then comes back with "Word was unable to open the data source". When I run it using word it appears to work, why doesn't it work from Access end.

Has anyone come across this before?

I avoid almost all merge problems by exporting records to a Word Merge file. This hands off the records so Access doesn't have to do anything else.

Excuse me, I'm hacking up a lung tonight it seems. Oh, and I definitely had that problem with this issue, some time in past.
