Hello,

I was running a vbscript which launches a macro in an Access database. With the macro security set to low, there was no problem with this process. Our server team took over the vbscript process so that it is run on a server which also has Access 2K3 loaded. Every time they reboot the server, macro security in Access is 'reset' from low to medium, causing the script to no longer run as a scheduled task. What would cause the macro security to change like this?

Do you have roaming profiles (or mandatory profiles) configured for the user account that the db runs under? If so, this could be resetting the permissions when an account disconnects.
Your server team can check this by:
1. Logon to server using the same method and credentials used for your server task.
2. Open database and check macro security.
3. Change security if needed.
4. Log off server.
5. Repeat steps 1-2.
If the setting has changed its almost certainly because of the user profile settings, either set by roaming profile settings or mandatory profile settings.
Either way, your server team should be able to address this.

I'm assuming in writing this that the db is run on your server rather than just from your server on another PC (as far as Windows servers are concerned, .mdb/mde/accdb/accde files are just files on disk in a folder).
