Hi there,

Hope this is the right forum - if not, I apologise.
I've been trying to open exclusively an Access database in order to set a password, but the system doesn't let me because it says that another user has it open. However, that's definitely not the case; also, I can see that the Access.LockFile.9 (.ldb file) is still there even though the Access database has been closed. I've tried to delete the lbd file but the system doesn't allow me.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Thanks PHV,

We'll give it a shot and get back to you.

If you're sure no one else is in the database and the lockfile is still present, try rebooting the computer the lockfile is on. Sometimes that'll get rid of it.

Are there any other db's linking to this database. If the other database is open this will cause the ldb file to be present.

If not and your on a network get the administrator for the share to delete the file.

Thanks, I got everyone to reboot and it finally worked.
