access javascript variable

I have a Cold Fusion page that accesses my Active Directory(cfldap)and returns client login info allowing me to personalize pages. I now have a PDF form that in which I'd like to use javascript to access a variable, say "login name", and use that to populate a PDF form field. I know I can set the javascript variable using the CF code, but I'm stumped after that. Ideas anyone?? --Steve
