One of my co-workers asked me the following question:

In WP10, about half the time that I make a change to a document and then attempt to save, it tells me that access is denied ... as if there is someone else in it. At first I thought someone was in my documents, but have figured out that no one is.

Does anyone know what this problem might be? Thanks.

Could be a number of things (most of which I don't have good solutions for). But it could be related to the Read-Only attribute, especially if the files were copied from a CD. It could also have to do with rights on a network.

I don't know whether either of these apply, but they are worth spending a brief moment looking into.

What network Operating System are you using? If using Novell try turning off the file caching. This tip came from the Novell website.

Turn off client file cache enabled on the server:

At the server console open monitor/server parameters/ncp/client file caching enabled=OFF.

...OR in the Novell Client Properties, Advanced Settings tab.
