Hello All,

I had Windows on my laptop go crazy on me. I'm not really worried about fixing it. I just want to reinstall Windows and move one. But I would like to grab my Pictures/Music/Anything I Can off before I do. I bought an external case for it and have it plugged into a different computer via USB, but for some reason I can't access my user folder. It tells me that access is denied... I'm not sure why but I would say that I believe a virus caused Windows to start acting the way it did.

Any help in retrieving my files would be met with the utmost appreciation.

Take ownership of files/folders and it should work

Please excuse my ignorance here but I don't know what you mean by taking ownership...

Yes, Ben is 100% on target there. You "lose" ownership when the drive is slaved in another computer/installation of windows.
