Why is it that my access hangs whenever i double click on the bound object frame. Yesterday it was opening the embedded picture perfectly and then when i encountered an error on my outlook i accidentally selected to restore it to the default settings. It there a connection to why it is hanging today. do i have to re install my access or what?

Whenever MS Access does really weird things, that you do not expect it should do..... that is when I run "Compact and Repair".

I suggest you run "Compact and Repair" and see if that fixes your problem.

Also, if that doesn't do it, then consider decompiling and recompiling your db:

1. Make a backup copy
2. Click Start>Run
3. Browse to your db (set files of type to all files)
4. At the end of the file path, outside the last "",
enter [!]\decompile[/!]
5. [!]Hold down the Shift key[/!] on your keyboard,
and click OK.
6. Your db should open and has been decompiled.
7. Leave the Shift key held down
8. Click Tools>Database Utilities>Compact and repair
9. Your db should reopen.
10. If you check the file size, it should be significantly smaller

Incidentally, you might want to consider enabling compacting on close so you don't have to remember to do it.

Hope this helps.
