Hi,

When accessing any report with a group tree, when attempting to select a group from the left-hand "preview" bar - sometimes a pop-up box stating "Access is denied" appears.

Anybody experience this and know what's the reason behind?

thanks
saj

Or clicking on the group tree view from the Crystal Enterprise site, takes nowhere to that group. Anyone have any suggestions???

thanks

Hi,
Do the Group drill-downs go to, perhaps, Sub-Reports?

If so, then check the database permissions ( and file system permissions) for them.

Thank you, Turkbear. Will check on the database and file permissions for them. But they are accessing the site with Windows NT authentication. Should the database permission affect?

This is single report already built on the specification.

Sample scenario. Data is on a single report. In the report there are 5 Groups – Group 1, Group 2…..Group 5

+ Group 1
+ Group 2
+ Group 3
+ Group 4
+ Group 5

Each group shows up on each page.

From Crystal Report 10 – Clicking on Group 3 takes to Page 3,
Clicking on Group 4 takes to Page 4 and so on.

But from Crystal Enterprise website – Clicking on Group 3 does not take to Page 3 and so on. But if all the pages are accessed one by one, with the ‘forward arrow key on the ActiveX viewer toolbar’, then clicking on Group 3 takes to Page 3 and so on.

ie, if the group falls within the page visited, then clicking on the group tree takes to that page. If a group tree is clicked, where the page that group exists, is not yet visited, then that page does not show up.

Any ways to overcome this situation.?

Is there a patch, to be installed for the group tree to properly navigate to the group, on the Crystal site?

I see there is one patch( as below) for the same problem, but for Windows form viewer.

Is there one for Web form viewer?

Here is that patch for Windows form viewer:
CRNET11WIN_EN_SP1
Application Development
ADAPT00034681
Patch ID: 35244027
Description:
In the Windows Form viewer, if you select a group in the group tree, the viewer does not navigate to that group; a drill-down event
is activated on that group instead.
New Behavior:
In the Windows Form viewer, if you select a group in the group tree, the viewer will navigate to that group as expected
