When i try to access our server over a vpn that is setup with a windows 2000 server i receive a message that says
"an attempt was made to logon but, the net logon service was not started". It used to work fine but now i get that message and sometimes when i do a search for the computer on the network over the vpn it cannot find the computer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you check the netlogon service to see if it's running? Check the event viewer.

Yes, I checked and it is running. It seems to
be intermittent(mostly down)from one office to another (which both have seperate T1's). If I use a dial up or dsl
connection from a differnt location, then connect to our vpn it works fine.
We also use a windows 2000 nat at the one office i am vpning out of.
I checked the network monitor logs on the server that i am
vpning to, which also has the shared folders that i am trying to access, and it shows the other machine is requesting information but is being denied.

Thanks
