One of my users is getting the following error message in Access 97 :

- Not enough free memory to update thge display

Can anyone help???? I went to Technet and they gave directions to create a macro and use that for the startup forms as opposed to the regular way of it opening up. It seemed to have worked for a while but the problem is back and I am not sure what to do next. Any/all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

To me that suggests, rather like the message states there is insufficient memory to carry out the tasks it has to do. Have you tried shutting down all TSR's which are running to free up some extra memory in an attempt to see how much is free?? Another idea would be to goto Help-About. It will tell you how much memory & what % system resources are free...... James Goodman

i have made three combobox and namely category, joining_for and duration. now i want to select one category and according to category selected i want to change the particular option in the joining_for field and when i select that particular option in the joining_for field accordingly the options in the duration feild should change
how i can do it

I have a problem like this with Slashdot. When I get moderator status, every post has a combo box attached to it. After the first 150 posts, the boxes stop appearing. And forget trying to open any new browser windows. It sounds to me that you may be having the same problem, too many combo boxes open. The only thing I can think of is to either get more memory, or get rid of the combo boxes.

I read in a book once that to help prevent some system resources, each combobox has an autoexpand feature, turn this off in the combobox properties. Also you may want to save the database as a MDE file, but the problem with that is you cant modify the database design/forms etc.
