Access desktop but not published app

I have a Citrix Metaframe XPs FR3 running on Windows Server 2003. Our server sits behind a firewall on a DSL router. We have opened up ports 1494 for TCP and 1604 for UDP. We can get to the published app from the LAN side. We WERE able to get to the published app from the WAN side (over the internet), but now we can't. I get a message stating "You do not have access to logon to this session". I am the administrator and I was able to get it to work before. I'm so confused! I CAN get a desktop though.

Connecting to a published app, requires application resolving. To a server not.
UPD 1604 for application resolving, has been replaced with 80 http, or 443 https tcp/ip port, since SP2 for MF 1.8

How should the client be configured? Right now we have the IP address of our router/firewall set as the IP address of the server where the published app resides.
