access denied on emncrypted folder after backing up

ok i have a serious problem... i re formatted today and prior i backed up my pictures folder to my secondary HDD. and the folder conatined important photos. although i had not realised that the folder was encrypted.; so i backed up the folder ands once i did a clean install of XP and went to restore the folder i could not. "acces denied" the stuff is encrypted and now there is no way of getting around it. i need to access tose photos. what can i do to access them. are there any thirs part y apps that can maybe crack the encryption, or is there anything i can do to be able to view the pics again?

Doesn't look promising. Did you backup anything except the data? Maybe the user profile of the user who had access to these files?
