Hi,

A colleague and I often have to edit HTML files from the shared network drive. He has DW8 and I have DW MX. If I've downloaded the files from where they live on our FTP, he can't save changes in DW to the file on the shared drive, and if he's downloaded them then I can't save changes back to the file, I get an 'Access denied' error.

We've been working round it by copying and pasting the code out to Notepad and saving it as a HTML file with the same name as the file we're trying to change, overwriting it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can get round this?

Any help much appreciated.

both need to use the same protocol and ftp accounts with same rights. I suspect that saving files through network shares is where they get reset and therefor ftp accounts/rights are cleared out. also, consider using 'check out' feature.
