There may be a very simple solution to this that I am just missing. I am linking a text file into access. I have a date field that comes in as 11/1/2004. I am trying to populate a table with this date field but I would like for it to be displayed as 11/01/2004. I have tried playing with this field and it keeps displaying as 11/1/2004. Is there a way to put format the date so that it shows up as mm/dd/yyyy. Thanks

Be sure that in the table design window the field type is DateTime and then simply play with its format property.

Hope This Helps, PH.

I switch it to short date but that always seems to drop the zero still. Can I specify my own format of that field??

Never mind. I figured it out. Did not know that you could specify a custom format in the format box.
Thanks for all of you help. Have a blessed new year.
