My Access front end is now linked to a SQL backend (I did the upgrade database routine)

I had checkbox fields which are now Yes/No fields in SQL. I am not getting any functionality out of my checkboxes in the GUI front end in Access. Is there a problem with permissions in the SQL side?

Is it a linked table issue? I must be able to use an Access front end and update the SQL backend RiGHT?

I am a little new to SQL so I have been trying to change permissions whereever I can.

Will I be able to get my checkbox fields to work correctly or will i have to change to Yes/No fields?

any help would be appreciated.

If I remember correct, this is an issue between what Access stores a Yes/No field as versus what a SQL Server stores a Yes/No field as. I think Access uses 0 for True or Yes and -1 for No or False. But I think SQL uses 1 for True or Yes and 0 for No or False.

I would check these parameters first....then all you have to do is check you code/table/queries to be looking for these new values instead of the old.

OK that definitely makes sense... but what i don't understand is why i can't change ANY of the data in my table. When I open the table just by itself I can't change anything at all...Is this a permission problem in SQL?? Thanks for yourhelp!

You cant change the data in SQL Server from Access if you don't have a primary key field defined in the SQL table.
