I have a split database that has Check information in it with a fancy front end that hits Oracle several times a day via MSDORA with multiple large SQL queries looping data into several different tables. A second access database has linked tables to these tables so that those users can use the info in the check database.
Both databases sit on an 2TB shared drive on a MS windows 2003 server network that gets a lot of traffic from multiple locations across the country.
It's now crashing quite often and causing strain for the clerks and myself. It attempts to repair itself every morning when I get into the backend and that works everytime, but I hate to think of the day when it doesn't work, which could happen soon.
What should I do?
fyi - because of my job title/dept and internal SOX requirements I am not allowed to have my own MS 2005 SQL server.
